FAQs
Questions before you book
Straight answers for Sydney car buyers on timing, access, packages and what the inspection covers.
Booking and timing
Do you inspect cars in my suburb?
Very likely, if the car is in Sydney.
We inspect cars across Greater Sydney, NSW, from Penrith and Campbelltown to Hornsby, the Northern Beaches and Cronulla. What counts is where the car is, not where you live.
Further out? Call us and we’ll tell you whether we can get there.
Check the suburb or postcodeHow soon can the inspection happen?
It depends on our availability and when the seller can show the car.
After you book, we contact the seller and agree a time with them, then confirm it with you by text and email.
Need it sooner? Add priority in the booking form for $50, same day where available. It isn’t included in any package, so you only pay for it when timing matters.
Do I need to be there?
No.
We arrange the inspection directly with the seller, so you don’t need to take time off or travel. Once it’s done, the mechanic calls you to go through what they found.
See how it worksCan I organise it from interstate?
Yes. You can book and hear the results from anywhere.
Book online or by phone and we handle everything with the seller in Sydney. The mechanic calls you after the inspection, wherever you are.
If you can’t see the car yourself, Standard and Premium add a digital report with photos, so you can see its condition before you commit.
Compare packagesWhat if the seller cancels or I need to reschedule?
Tell us as early as you can and we’ll work through it with you.
Changes and cancellations follow our cancellation and refund policy. It includes a $50 cancellation fee and rules for late changes, so please read it before you book.

Do you inspect private-sale and dealer cars?
Yes, both.
We inspect cars at the seller’s home or at the dealer’s yard. All the mechanic needs is safe access to the car.
What kinds of vehicles do you inspect?
Cars, SUVs and utes.
If you’re buying something electric, hybrid, modified, classic or unusual, call us first so we can confirm what the inspection can cover for that vehicle.
0451 691 304Will the inspection find every problem?
No inspection can promise that, but it shows you much more than you’d see on your own.
It’s a visual, non-invasive inspection: the mechanic checks what can be seen, heard and tested on-site, with a test drive where it’s safe and suitable. Nothing is taken apart.
That means it can’t predict future faults or see hidden internal wear. What it does give you is a mechanic’s view of the car’s condition before you hand over your money.
Is this a roadworthy or pink slip inspection?
No.
A pre-purchase inspection tells you about the car’s condition so you can decide whether to buy it. It isn’t a pink slip (safety check), a registration inspection or any kind of certificate, and it isn’t a warranty.
Packages and results
Which package should I choose?

Premium ($395): adds engine and transmission diagnostics, odometer, stolen, written-off and finance record checks, and up to 100 photos. Good for higher-value cars or when the history matters.
Every package includes a phone call with the mechanic. Still unsure? Call us and we’ll help you pick.
